Sean Lee 3rd All Time for Sophomores...Ever! #1 in US and CA

(MARCH 2, 2016) — Trabuco Hills High sophomore Sean Lee rose to the occasion on Wednesday, becoming the 100th skywalker in state history to clear seven feet in the high jump. He cleared 7-00.25 on his third attempt to zoom up the state's all-time lists.
Lee, who came into the meet with a career best of 6-10.75 from a mid-February indoor meet in Arizona, had a clean sheet for much of the way on Wednesday after entering the dual meet competition against Capistrano Valley at an opening height of 6-04.00. Lee cleared on his first attempt at 6-04, 6-06, 6-08 and 6-10.00 to reach the threshold of the 7-foot plataeu on pretty fresh legs.
The drama undoubtedly began to spike from there, however, with the age-group star then drawing misses in each of his first two attempts at a school record 7-00.25. Donning eyeglasses and sllightly lengthening his approach, the cool sophomore then slinked over the bar and straight into history.
He also took two stabs at 7-01 before calling it a day with nine jumps under his belt.
Lee's clearance instantly shot him from well outside the top 100 on the all-time state list to all the way up to a tie for 45th in state history.
Sean, who is coached by parents (Ron and Mavis), also moved into a tie for third place on the all-time California sophomore list.
JSerra's Harrison Steed (who has coached by Sean's dad in high school) cleared 7-01.00 in 2008 to share the state sophomore record with Westlake's Kenny Burke (1983). Sean Lee tied Charter Oak's Mark Wilson (1987) for third on the all-time grade list.
